Heated Swimming Pool

Swimming helps individuals lose weight. When an individual swims for just 30 minutes they can expect to burn at least 367 calories! Not only can you expect to lose weight, muscles are also strengthened though regularly swimming. The movements made in the water are much harder to do than out with the water, so you can be sure your muscles are getting the best kind of work out when you swim. People who swim are also said to have less sleeping difficulties than those who don’t. Swimming reduces insomnia and stops the body waking up too early, as well as improving mental health by reducing stress levels, improving your mood and improving self-esteem. Of course, the main advantage of swimming is the fact that swimming is good for your heart and a great form of cardiovascular exercise. But, it’s also proven to control blood sugar levels, lower blood pressure and reduce bad cholesterol. So by swimming regularly, you’re less likely to develop issues such as type 2 diabetes, heart disease and stroke.

Hydrotherapy Pool

Reduces muscle tension and relieves pain

The weightlessness you feel when under water relieves tension in the limbs, supporting aching muscles and easing the movement as opposed to when on land. Plus, hydrotherapy stimulates the release of endorphins, acting as a natural pain reliever which will further reduce muscle soreness. Incorporating hydrotherapy as part of your fitness is a great way to recover after a day's training.

Rehabilitates injured muscles

Being immersed in warm or hot water raises the body temperature, increasing blood flow around the circulatory system and so alleviating pain. The improved circulation will in turn help to heal injured tissues and rehabilitate damaged muscles or joints.

Boosts the immune system

The increased blood flow and circulation of white blood cells around the body allows lymph (an immune system fluid that helps collect and get rid of unwanted materials from the body) to be moved through the body more efficiently and therefore strengthens the immune system, helping to fight colds and illnesses.

Relieves stress

Hydrotherapy treatment can be effectively used whilst helping to reduce blood pressure caused by stress. It may also slow down the body’s reaction to anxiety and release endorphins – a natural stress fighter.

Bio Sauna

A bio sauna is a gentler form of sauna than that of the traditional Swedish ones as the temperature is not as hot. At forty to fifty degrees Celsius, a bio sauna has a comfortable temperature that is not overpowering or exhausting. Humidity is generally a bit higher at approximately fifty percent. This means that while less aggressive, your body will still perspire. With a bio sauna, you will often find that essential oils and colour therapy are also used to increase the effects. What are the benefits? Some people find the more classic ones too hot to be comfortable, whereas with this type, the environment stays pleasant and you can sit for longer periods. The increased humidity means that though it’s less hot, you will still sweat bringing toxins in the skin to the surface where they can be washed away. This will deep clean your skin leaving it soft and smooth as well as helping to prevent infections or illness. It also helps the respiratory system, especially if essential oils are infused into the air. Circulation is promoted in a healthy way that does not put undue strain on your body. This helps to promote your body’s natural healing systems and to make you stronger in yourself. This is an ideal way to escape from the stresses of a hectic lifestyle and really unwind. You’ll leave feeling cleaner, healthier, and chilled out.

Swedish Sauna

They are a natural stress relief

Regular sauna users cite stress relief as the biggest benefit of saunas. Stress can have a negative impact on health as many diseases are stress-related.

Saunas are a warm, usually quiet space and the heat of the sauna relaxes the muscles, improves circulation and stimulates endorphin release – causing an after-sauna glow.

Saunas relax muscles and soothe aches and pains

The heat of saunas releases endorphins which have a mild numbing effect and can reduce ache pain and muscle soreness.

Your body temperature will also rise which will cause blood vessels to dilate and increase blood circulation – increasing blood flow and speeding up the healing of minor injuries like bruises or cuts.

Your skin and hair will never be better

One of the oldest beauty tricks in the book, saunas will cleanse both your skin and hair. Deep sweating cleanses the skin and dead skin cells are replaced. It also rinses bacteria out of the epidermal layer and sweat ducts.

Our scalp contains the sebaceous gland, which can moisturise hair – having a sauna activates this gland. This releases the compounds found in this gland, making hair look great.

They can cure a hangover

Or, more accurately, they can flush out toxins like the toxins found in alcohol. A number of other toxins can be removed when we deep sweat, and saunas can reduce levels of lead, copper, zinc, nickel and mercury found in the body.

Detoxifying our bodies regularly is highly recommended by medical professionals and having a sauna is one of the easiest ways to do this.

You can burn calories

That’s right, you can lose weight while sitting and doing nothing. It’s a miracle. But while this is true to an extent, saunas should not be considered the be-all and end-all of weight loss methods.

Saunas can be a supplement to weight loss as it takes a lot of energy to reach the deep sweat process – you can burn up to 300 calories in a session.

They will help fight off illness

Medical research has shown that saunas can significantly reduce incidence of colds and influenza – and they are also great for clearing the sinuses of anyone who suffers from hay fever.

This is because the heat and steam from the sauna produce white blood cells rapidly which kills of viruses. Saunas that use steam as well can help to clear up congestion.

Saunas can help you sleep better

If you find yourself waking up in the middle of the night, unable to get back to sleep saunas can help you to have a more relaxing sleep.

The slow release of endorphins is key to a relaxed and deep sleep.

They will improve cardiovascular performance

Regular sauna usage helps to improve the body’s regulatory system as your heart rate rises while you are in the sauna.

To increase the regulatory system even further, taking a quick, cool shower mixed with sauna intervals will increase your heart rate by as much as 60 per cent.

Aroma steam room

How beneficial to the body is aroma steam sauna? Here is a list of four benefits enjoyed by those who have made it part of their wellness regimen:

A relaxing treat Aroma Steam Rooms are generally designed for either relaxation or restorative treatment of bodily functions. It is often recommended for people suffering from arthritis, allergic rhinitis, including those with cardiovascular concerns. A simple sauna session has many health advantages, but its immediate effect on the body is relaxation of stressed out nerves and muscles. It is also known to have a calming effect on the brain.

Aromatherapy and Steam Rooms make a perfect treat. Many therapists believe that certain aromas or fragrances can alter the mood of an individual; ylang-ylang, for example, which gives off a floral scent, relieves anxiety.

Weight-loss benefit Aroma steam sauna enhances a person’s metabolism rate. It has the same effect as your favourite aerobics, only you won’t stink!

Improves blood circulation Aroma Steam Room enhance blood circulation, which improves the function of blood vessels to transport food nutrients throughout the body. It’s no rocket science; you’ve been taught since you were in the grades that how things are inside your body will always show on your skin. If you feel good inside, you’ll look better, too.

Cleansing and detoxification High temperature levels inside the steam room stimulate the body to perspire, which then open the pores of the skin. Toxins are released from the body through the skin, as well as through the kidneys and liver. This supports the body’s natural methods of cleansing and detoxifying itself, which enhances its defence against the onslaught of bacteria and viruses.

Relaxation, weight loss, body cleansing and detoxification, and an improved blood circulation – these are just some of the health benefits you can enjoy with regular aroma steam room. Experience a different level of “high” when you get total cleansing, inside and out.
